Illuminations in Fiber: Inspired by The Saint John’s Bible
This exhibit on the lower level of the Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave N, Moorhead, MN opens September 28 and runs through December.
Displayed in a large glass case are 15 fiber works, predominantly quilts, made by members of Designing Quilters. None of these pieces has been exhibited before. They were made especially to accompany Illuminating the Word, the largest art exhibition in the Hjemkomst’s history, featuring 68 original folios of the first hand-illuminated and hand-calligraphed Bible to be commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years, The Saint John’s Bible.
Admission to The St. John’s Bible and other exhibits is $15, $14 for seniors and students. HCSCC members are not charged admission.
